Championship JWOEC Contest

The Japan Wind Orchestra and Ensemble Competition is a "sweepstakes" event, and most remarkably, has divisions of Elementary School, Junior High and High Schools. The 10 Elementary finalist bands are of astounding quality, performing intriguing literature with great sonority and balance. Some of these secondary bands also participate in the All Japan Band Contest (a non-sweepstake festival) but for the JWOEC have no required test piece to perform. So, the literature is more diverse, and this competition's nomination process might include groups unable to attend the AJBC.
